About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Biomedical Sterilizer Equipment Specialist for Sharp HealthCare located in San Diego, CA. The main role of the Biomedical Equipment Specialist will be to ensure all related biomedical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, strong technical skills, and a commitment to deliver excellent repair service expediently. Previous leadership/mentorship experience is a plus. Working in Healthcare Technology Management for Sodexo, you will partner with Healthcare clients to manage their clinical technology needs, providing leadership and expertise for their business, patients, residents, and staff. Requirements

A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s license record check is required.
Experience effectively repairing, maintaining and calibrating clinical devices specific to hospital decontamination, Steris sterilizers, and equipment sterilization.
Experience with general biomedical medical equipment such as Ventilators, GE Anesthesia, Telemetry, etc.
Ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Ability to proactively think to troubleshoot medical devices.
Good communication skills.
Great time management skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to adhere to regulatory compliance for hospital systems.
Preferably 7-10 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting.
Basic knowledge of networking theory.
Considerable knowledge of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
Substantial knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation.
Skill in testing electronic equipment.
Manual dexterity, hand-to-eye coordination, and color vision.
Formal training and preferred experience servicing clinical equipment.
Experience in a healthcare facility or healthcare setting.
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment.
Minimum Functional Experience - 7 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting.

Previous leadership/mentorship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure all related biomedical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner.
Repair, maintain, and calibrate clinical devices specific to hospital decontamination, Steris sterilizers, and equipment sterilization.
Perform repairs on general biomedical medical equipment such as Ventilators, GE Anesthesia, Telemetry, etc.
Make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
Provide leadership and mentoring to junior biomedical equipment technicians and/or cadets.
Proactively troubleshoot medical devices in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Communicate effectively and manage time efficiently to provide world-class service to healthcare customers.
Adhere to regulatory compliance for hospital systems.
