The Biomedical Field Service Engineer II operates with a high degree of independence and minimal oversight, providing installation, maintenance, recall, and repair support for a broad range of assigned modalities and models at customer sites. This role drives customer satisfaction through consistent achievement of service metrics and professional engagement with customers and stakeholders. The engineer is responsible for following company procedures and maintaining accountability for assigned assets, including vehicle, inventory, and test equipment. They contribute ideas to support a team’s effectiveness and provide occasional field support to adjacent team members as business needs require. The position involves performing preventative maintenance and recall service for all models within the territory, diagnosing, evaluating, calibrating, and repairing non-functioning devices to OEM standards, and installing new medical devices, demo units, and loaners independently. Leveraging technology to manage service orders, access customer and equipment information, accurately document completed service work, and utilize technical documentation and diagnostic tools is crucial for efficient service order management and delivering high-quality service. The role requires consistent achievement of assigned KPIs while adhering to all operational procedures and work instructions, ensuring consistent performance, efficiency, and compliance with company standards. Maintaining full compliance with Field Service Engineer requirements includes completing required training, managing calibrated test equipment, performing inventory cycle counts and discrepancy resolution, and adhering to service order documentation standards. Timely and accurate documentation, rapid correction of errors, and appropriate engagement with Quality to meet regulatory and company requirements are essential. The engineer must maintain accountability for assigned company assets, ensuring they are properly maintained, accurately inventoried, and available to support service activities, reporting any damage, loss, or required maintenance promptly. The role requires the ability to work at varying locations, travel as required, and adjust work hours, including nonstandard business hours, to meet customer and business needs. Occasionally, the engineer may be responsible for up-skilling new team members.
