About The Position

The Biomedical Equipment Technician Level III is a senior role responsible for performing advanced maintenance, calibration, and repair on a wide array of biomedical equipment. This position requires extensive technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and train junior staff. The technician will also be involved in project management and equipment planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or an Associate degree with equivalent experience.
  • Four to ten (4-10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems
  • Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without and employer sponsored visa.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record

  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced maintenance, calibration, and repairs on complex biomedical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, utilizing advanced technical knowledge.
  • Ensure all biomedical equipment meets industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance and repair actions.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior technicians and clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support, equipment updates, and recalls.
  • Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of new biomedical equipment.
  • Manage projects related to biomedical equipment installation and upgrades.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Assist with equipment procurement and lifecycle management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance initiatives related to equipment tracking and maintenance records.
  • Support inventory management and tracking of biomedical equipment.
  • Assist in risk assessment and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
