Provides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, routine and emergency service to general and various specialized diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment, as assigned by the Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager. This role involves knowing, understanding, and incorporating the mission, vision, and core values of Trinity Health and the Ministry Organization. The technician performs PM procedures using manufacturer’s recommendations, standards, or code requirements, and industry acceptable processes. They also perform corrective maintenance procedures, diagnosing problems using various scientific principles, and documenting all activities to comply with regulatory and standard requirements. The position requires interaction with clinical staff to resolve operational problems and minimize interference with hospital departments, as well as determining the need for replacement parts and supplies, sourcing them cost-effectively, and completing work order documentation. Teamwork, continuous process improvement, and maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations are also key aspects of this role. The technician may be assigned duties as Lead Bio-Medical Equipment Technician and provides on-call service coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis. Assistance and training to Bio-Medical Equipment Technician I may also be required.
