About The Position

Innovative Renal Care is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to support two dialysis clinics in West Orange, NJ and East Orange, NJ, operating Fresenius 2008T machines. The Biomed II performs repairs, preventive maintenance, and water treatment monitoring, ensuring equipment reliability and AAMI‑compliant water quality. This role works closely with senior technical staff, escalates issues appropriately, and independently manages the maintenance requirements of facilities in accordance with established policies and procedures. All full‑time biomedical technicians are required to provide on‑call coverage and will receive a weekly on‑call stipend for this responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in a medical/technical environment required
  • Advanced knowledge of water treatment systems, including re‑beds, membrane replacement, pre‑treatment head rebuilds, and PVC plumbing
  • Advanced understanding of regulatory requirements and laws that affect compliance, including having high level understanding of the state/federal survey process.
  • Basic understanding of accounting practices.

Nice To Haves

  • 12 months of biomedical experience in dialysis within the last two years preferred
  • Bonent, NANT, CBMET or other state certifications preferred
  • Manufacturer‑provided training or certification on hemodialysis equipment
  • Training or certification from water treatment system manufacturers or vendors (RO systems, distribution loops, and related components)

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on dialysis equipment, water treatment systems, and related technical systems
  • Monitor and document water treatment performance to ensure AAMI‑compliant quality, including daily testing and alternative water supply procedures
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, logs, and regulatory documentation
  • Independently manage the maintenance needs of one to two dialysis clinics, including PM and certification schedules
  • Clean, disinfect, and perform basic maintenance on RO systems and distribution loops
  • Support clinic operations by assisting with supply inventory, equipment setup, and emergency procedures
  • Provide in‑services and basic training to clinical and technical staff on equipment testing and water treatment operations
  • Participate in QAPI activities, required trainings, staff meetings, and survey readiness
  • Assist home dialysis programs with equipment delivery, PM exchanges, and inventory management
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, participate in relocations or de novo clinics, and provide on‑call support for urgent technical needs
