About The Position

The Biomedical Engineering Technician 1 assembles, maintains, and repairs medical equipment. You will report to the Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics, biomedical engineering or related field
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willing to attain Certifications in CABT and CBET.
  • Knowledge of accepted practices of Biomed Engineering and medical equipment management.
  • Six [6] months experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment
  • Three [3] years related experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance checks on biomedical equipment through testing, calibrating, troubleshooting by taking corrective measures to ensure system functions.
  • Install new incoming biomedical equipment by adjusting devices in reference to medical specifications and train staff members to operate and care for the equipment with physical demonstrations and educational presentations.
  • Order components for failed medical devices, verify deliveries on new, leased, and loaned medical devices and oversee third-party repairs.
  • Repair faulty machinery by priority and schedule equipment inspections.
  • Responsible for updating inventory including out of service equipment, new incoming equipment, spare parts, and preventative maintenance kits.
  • Ensure that all equipment meets company standards of safety and quality with reference to the Joint Commission (TJC), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and any other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Other responsibilities as may be assigned.
