This role involves responding to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repairs and planned maintenance (PM) on customers' basic biomedical equipment. The technician will drive customer satisfaction through service excellence. Under supervision, the technician will evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and as assigned, perform PM and safety/environmental inspections. They may assist more experienced technicians on basic and more complex repairs. The role requires effective communication and partnership with teammates and colleagues, adherence to GE policies and hospital protocols, and completion of necessary documentation. Daily communication with customers is expected to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, fostering strong customer relations. The technician will implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business goals. They will work as part of a local team to provide efficient service delivery and share on-call responsibility when trained. Documentation of all repair actions and submission of reports/summaries are required. Proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, along with ensuring calibration, is essential. Continuous enhancement and maintenance of technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction is expected. Understanding and utilizing resources like manuals, tech support, and online tools to answer questions during PM is also part of the role. Compliance with Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and all other applicable regulatory requirements is mandatory.
