The Biomed Field Service Engineer II is a field-based position covering the greater Baton Rouge area. This position is eligible for a company vehicle with personal use allowed. The role provides installation, maintenance, recall, and repair support for a broad range of assigned modalities and models at customer sites, operating with a high degree of independence and minimal oversight. The engineer drives customer satisfaction through consistent achievement of service metrics and professional engagement with customers and stakeholders. Responsibilities include following company procedures, maintaining accountability for assigned assets (vehicle, inventory, test equipment), and contributing ideas to support team effectiveness. Occasional field support to adjacent team members may be required. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and recall service for all models within the territory, diagnosing, evaluating, calibrating, and repairing non-functioning devices to OEM standards for assigned models, and performing moderately difficult repairs guided by defined processes. Installation of new medical devices, demo units, and loaners per OEM standards is also a key function, with the ability to install independently in all instances. The engineer will leverage technology to manage service orders, access customer and equipment information, accurately document completed service work promptly, and utilize technical documentation and diagnostic tools to ensure efficient service order management and high-quality service delivery. Consistently achieving assigned KPIs while adhering to operational procedures and work instructions is expected, ensuring performance, efficiency, and compliance. Maintaining full compliance with Field Service Engineer requirements includes completing training, managing calibrated test equipment, performing inventory cycle counts and discrepancy resolution, and adhering to service order documentation standards. Timely and accurate documentation, rapid correction of errors, and appropriate engagement with Quality to meet regulatory and company requirements are crucial. Accountability for assigned company assets is essential, ensuring they are properly maintained, inventoried, and available. Reporting damage, loss, or required maintenance in a timely manner is also required. The role requires working at varying locations, traveling as required, and adjusting work hours, including nonstandard business hours, to meet customer and business needs. Occasional responsibility for up-skilling new team members may arise.
