About The Position

The BioMed Field Service Engineer II is responsible for providing installation, maintenance, recall, and repair support for a broad range of assigned modalities and models at customer sites. This role operates with a high degree of independence and minimal oversight, driving customer satisfaction through consistent achievement of service metrics and professional engagement. The engineer will follow company procedures, maintain accountability for assigned assets, and contribute to team effectiveness. This position involves performing preventative maintenance and recall service, diagnosing, evaluating, calibrating, and repairing non-functioning devices to OEM standards, and installing new medical devices, demo units, and loaners independently. Leveraging technology to manage service orders, document work, and utilize technical documentation is crucial for efficient service order management and high-quality service delivery. The role requires consistent achievement of assigned KPIs, adherence to operational procedures, and timely, accurate documentation to meet regulatory and company requirements. Accountability for assigned company assets, including vehicle, inventory, and test equipment, is essential. The position requires working at varying locations, traveling as required, and adjusting work hours, including nonstandard business hours, to meet customer and business needs. Occasionally, the engineer may be responsible for up-skilling new team members.

Requirements

  • Associates in Electronics or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience – biomedical or electronic field service
  • Experience working independently while reaching assigned goals.
  • Strong customer communication skills.
  • Able to review service history and device log data to achieve repairs.
  • Effective communicator with internal and external customers.
  • Able to interpret technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other business systems.
  • Works independently and manages multiple priorities.
  • Customer focused with a strong learning orientation.
  • Demonstrates effective planning and execution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides installation, maintenance, recall, and repair support for a broad range of assigned modalities and models at customer sites.
  • Operates with a high degree of independence and minimal oversight.
  • Drives customer satisfaction through consistent achievement of service metrics and professional engagement with customers and stakeholders.
  • Follows company procedures and maintains accountability for assigned assets, including vehicle, inventory, and test equipment.
  • Contributes ideas to support a team’s effectiveness and provides occasional field support to adjacent team members as business needs require.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and recall service for all models within the territory.
  • Performs work independently with occasional outside support.
  • Diagnoses, evaluates, calibrates, and repairs nonfunctioning devices to OEM standards for assigned models.
  • Works on repairs that are moderately difficult, guided by defined and documented processes.
  • Installs new medical devices, demo units and loaners per OEM standards.
  • Leverages available technology to manage service orders, access customer and equipment information, accurately document completed service work promptly, and utilize technical documentation and diagnostic tools.
  • Ensures efficient service order management to consistently deliver high-quality service to Dräger customers.
  • Consistently achieves assigned KPIs while adhering to all operational procedures and work instructions, ensuring consistent performance, efficiency, and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintains full compliance with Field Service Engineer requirements by completing required training, managing calibrated test equipment, performing inventory cycle counts and discrepancy resolution, and adhering to service order documentation standards.
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation, rapid correction of errors, and appropriate engagement with Quality to meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintains accountability for assigned company assets, including vehicle, inventory, and test equipment, ensuring assets are properly maintained, accurately inventoried, and available to support service activities.
  • Reports damage, loss, or required maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Work at varying locations, travel as required, and adjust work hours, including nonstandard business hours, to meet customer and business needs.
  • Occasionally responsible for up-skilling new team members.
