This role is for a BioMed Field Service Engineer II based in Columbus, OH. The position is within the Draeger, Inc. business unit and is a permanent, field service employment type. The engineer will be responsible for providing installation, maintenance, recall, and repair support for a broad range of assigned modalities and models at customer sites. This role operates with a high degree of independence and minimal oversight, driving customer satisfaction through consistent achievement of service metrics and professional engagement. The engineer will follow company procedures, maintain accountability for assigned assets, and contribute to team effectiveness, occasionally providing field support to adjacent team members. The position involves performing preventative maintenance and recall service for all models within the territory, diagnosing, evaluating, calibrating, and repairing non-functioning devices to OEM standards, and installing new medical devices, demo units, and loaners independently. Leveraging technology to manage service orders, access customer and equipment information, document service work promptly, and utilize technical documentation and diagnostic tools is essential for efficient service order management and high-quality service delivery. The engineer will consistently achieve assigned KPIs while adhering to operational procedures and work instructions, ensuring performance, efficiency, and compliance. Maintaining compliance with Field Service Engineer requirements includes completing training, managing calibrated test equipment, performing inventory cycle counts, and adhering to service order documentation standards. Timely and accurate documentation, rapid error correction, and appropriate engagement with Quality are required to meet regulatory and company requirements. Accountability for assigned company assets, including vehicle, inventory, and test equipment, is crucial, ensuring they are properly maintained, inventoried, and available. Reporting damage, loss, or required maintenance in a timely manner is also a responsibility. The role requires working at varying locations, traveling as required, and adjusting work hours, including nonstandard business hours, to meet customer and business needs. Occasionally, the engineer may be responsible for up-skilling new team members.
