The RG Biomanufacturing Operator I is responsible for performing tasks associated with Aldevron’s Research Grade (RG) services within the Upstream department. The RG Biomanufacturing Operator I is expected to become familiar with all of Aldevron’s products and to be able to perform most tasks associated with the purification of plasmid DNA.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma required
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills
  • Ability to follow written instructions and work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in biology, chemistry, or molecular biology preferred
  • Microbiology
  • Laboratory experiences

Responsibilities

  • Perform various laboratory practices like bacterial inoculation and harvest, transformation, cell banking, linearization, and gel electrophoresis utilizing E. coli bacteria
  • Perform plasmid purification and assessment using agarose gel electrophoresis
  • Train in functions performed across other teams within the Research Grade building
