Biology Specialist
About The Position
Turing is hiring Biology Specialists for remote contract assignments supporting leading AI labs. Specialists will use their biology expertise to help fine-tune large language models, evaluate their performance, and develop benchmarks across undergraduate- to PhD-level biology topics. Assignments have defined start and end dates and may offer up to 40 hours per week. Pay is $100+ per hour, depending on the role and candidate expertise. Shortlisted applicants must complete an evaluation before selection. No AI experience is required. Turing is based in San Francisco, California, and describes itself as a research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a partner to global enterprises. Its work includes accelerating frontier AI research through data, training pipelines, and AI researchers, as well as helping enterprises develop reliable AI systems.
Requirements
- A PhD, completed or in progress, in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong biology reasoning and problem-solving skills across advanced domains.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and provide structured feedback.
Responsibilities
