About The Position

Savannah Technical College seeks part-time, Adjuncts to teach Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II, Microbiology, and Introductory Biology courses. The Adjunct Biology Instructor will be responsible for instructing students, developing program syllabi, goals and objectives; evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; ensuring student learning outcomes are attained and appropriately recorded; preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports; maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences; ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and laboratory; and meeting with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of students. Must have a flexible schedule of lecture and laboratory and may involve split teaching shifts or routine travel between campus locations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in biology, Microbiology or Physiology, or closely related field with 18 graduate semester hours or 30 graduate quarter hours in Biology, Microbiology or Physiology from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in usage of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to workday and/or evening hours.
  • Ability to be an active part of instructional and non-instructional activities.
  • All male applicants between the ages of 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of Selective Service Registration.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of instructing Biology, Microbiology, or Physiology and lab at an accredited collegiate/university.
