About The Position

The Biology Instructor will be responsible for teaching classes in specified areas of biology, including Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Organismal Biology, and General Biology for both majors and non-majors. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in General Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Biology or related sub-discipline from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in courses specific to biology.
  • Understanding of and commitment to community college teaching, mission and philosophy.
  • Innovative, flexible, positive, and equity-minded teaching style and understanding the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to teach effectively in multiple teaching modalities including face to face, hybrid, hyflex, and fully online.
  • A foreign degree must be certified, at the candidate’s expense, by a professional evaluation service.

Nice To Haves

  • Background and expertise in the General Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology areas for both major and non-major students.

  • Teach classes in specified areas of biology as student needs require including: Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Organismal Biology, and General Biology for both majors and non-majors.
  • Make provisions for student consultations as may be necessary and reasonable.
