About The Position

The faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses in Anatomy and Physiology, as well as one section of Research Methods. In addition to instructional duties, this role includes fulfilling administrative and supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the Governor’s School Director.

Requirements

Candidates must possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in secondary mathematics or computer science.
Strong instructional, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
Must demonstrate initiative and independence while accomplishing all instructional and administrative objectives.
Must work effectively and collegially within the framework of a unique school environment that requires continual learning and change in order to adapt to emerging technologies and students’ interests.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience teaching advanced biology is preferred.
Experience teaching gifted and talented students is preferred.
Dual Enrollment qualification (18 graduate hours in biology is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction in Anatomy and Physiology and Research Methods, working in coordination with the lead research instructor, and fulfill all associated instructional and administrative responsibilities.
Teach senior seminar technology labs as assigned, including all related duties.
Participate in a range of school-related activities in accordance with the CVGS calendar.
Perform additional administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Governor’s School Director.
