About The Position

The Biology Department at Sacred Heart University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor. Adjunct instructors in the department have taught a variety of on-ground courses, ranging from non-major lecture courses to major courses (lectures and/or labs). These courses may include Concepts in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Ecology, Genetics, and other related areas. The Biology Department offers majors in Biology, Coastal & Marine Science, Molecular & Cellular Biology, and Neuroscience. The successful candidate will be expected to actively promote a collegial environment and consciously apply the university's mission and values to create a safe space where all may thrive and succeed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a master's degree in a closely related field is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A terminal degree.
  • Prior higher education level instruction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of on-ground courses in Biology, including non-major lecture courses and major courses (lectures and/or labs).
  • Potentially teach courses such as Concepts in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Ecology, Genetics, and other related areas.
