About The Position

EBI is seeking a Biologist to support client projects in the West Region. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of environmental compliance documents, filings, and related permitting for projects primarily within, but not limited to, the wireless communications industry. The successful candidate will have a working understanding of the regulatory requirements of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act, and other related federal and state regulations, and a real passion for Biological Assessments. This position reports directly to the Technical Director, Biology, and is a work from home position with some infrequent on-site field requirements. To be considered, candidates must already be comfortable working from home and able to travel when necessary.

Requirements

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science with a concentration in Biology, or a closely related field (e.g. Natural Resource Management, Ecology, or similar)
2-5 years of professional experience in the environmental industry
Wetland experience (delineation/permitting)
Species/habitat surveys (completed in the field or desktop reviews for the presence/absence of protected species)
Experience with submitting environmental permitting applications for federal or state agencies
Comfortable working from home
Able to travel when necessary

Responsibilities

Project-specific data and regulatory research
Desktop assessments and field surveys, including habitat evaluations, protected species and avian nest surveys, and wetlands delineations
Consultation with local, state, and/or federal agencies
Preparation of reports such as Biological Assessments, Environmental Assessments, and NEPA-related documentation, as well as permit applications
