About The Position

Kleinfelder's Environmental team is seeking a Biologist / Wetland Scientist / Ecologist for their Tulsa, OK office. This part-time, flexible position will assist on various projects primarily in the transportation, energy, and commercial markets. The role involves conducting field assessments for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, and other natural resources projects. A significant portion of the work will include fieldwork and report preparation.

Requirements

  • BS in an Environmental, Biological, Ecological Science or related field.
  • Experience conducting field assessments for wetlands, threatened and endangered species and other related projects in the natural resources sector.
  • Strong background in plant and wildlife identification, soils evaluation, hydrology, GPS use.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client specific requirements.
  • Ability to travel for fieldwork (typically short-term).
  • Satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check following an offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in conducting environmental fieldwork and reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Field delineations of Waters of the U.S. (including wetlands) according to USACE standards.
  • Biological assessments for threatened and endangered species.
  • Preparing various types of reports, including field reports, internal correspondence, and formal reports.
  • Conducting work year-round in adverse climate and field conditions.
