About The Position

The Biologics Assistant performs manufacturing and, as needed, distribution tasks related to the management of whole blood and blood components in compliance with OneBlood standard operating procedures. This full-time position is scheduled Thursday through Monday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility required. The employee must also be available for weekday training from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM for 3–4 weeks. Depending on hours worked, the position may include a shift and weekend differential of $1.50–$4.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to organize work for timely completion.
• Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
• Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with people contacted during the course of work.
• Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Skill in operating office equipment.
• Ability to report to work during a disaster, public health emergency, or other catastrophic event.

Nice To Haves

• Prior laboratory, bloodbank manufacturing, or logistics experience.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, store, and distribute blood and blood products.
• Enter data associated with component production, labeling, storage, and shipping, ensuring manufacturing records are accurate and complete.
• Operate, maintain, and perform quality control checks on equipment.
• Ensure products are suitable and accurately labeled for release and distribution.
• Quarantine and dispose of unacceptable products and/or samples.
• Ensure adequate inventory of required supplies.
• Prepare and submit quality control samples for testing.
