Biological Science Research Technician 1 (Short-Term)
About The Position
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 20-hours per week), short-term, Biological Sciences Technician 1 position for the North Willamette Research & Extension Center at Oregon State University (OSU). This position is anticipated to last approximately one year. Work under the supervision of the program lead conducting a variety of tasks necessary to the functions of the laboratory and field research. Duties using computer software, collecting data, entering data, rearing insects, extensive lab work and other duties as needed. Contribute to a safe, respectful, and professional work environment and work collaboratively with fellow lab members.
Requirements
- Two years of college-level courses in Horticulture/Crop Science/Agronomy/Soil Science/Botany or other Biology/Natural Resources discipline; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Competence in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience working on a farm.
Nice To Haves
- Prior biological research technician experience for the hazelnut/orchards program.
