About The Position

GondolaBio is seeking a Biological Data Scientist, with title and responsibilities commensurate with experience, to design and execute integrative computational analyses across multiomics datasets. The role supports therapeutic discovery in rare and genetically defined diseases through the generation of therapeutic hypotheses, biomarker discovery, target identification, mechanism-of-action studies, and translational research. The scientist will work independently in a collaborative, data-driven environment, identify opportunities to use diverse biological data to answer challenging scientific questions, and apply AI-enabled approaches with sound scientific judgment. Depending on experience, the role may contribute to or independently lead computational analyses across diverse disease programs. This is a U.S.-based remote position with periodic travel, quarterly or as needed, to GondolaBio’s Palo Alto office or conference locations. GondolaBio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing therapeutics for genetic diseases and is an independent sister company to BridgeBio.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • At least 2 years of industry and/or postdoctoral experience applying computational methods to large-scale biological datasets; at least 5 years for the Senior level.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing transcriptomic, proteomic, genetic, and/or related biological datasets to answer complex scientific questions.
  • Working proficiency in Python for scientific computing and data analysis.
  • Ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar disease areas, identify appropriate datasets, and integrate diverse evidence into actionable scientific insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive as an independent contributor in a collaborative, fast-moving research environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting biomarker discovery, translational research, or target identification in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Experience with transcriptomic approaches, particularly single-cell RNA sequencing.
  • Experience with spatial transcriptomics or related cellular profiling technologies.
  • Experience using large language models and agentic AI workflows to accelerate computational biology research, with appropriate scientific validation of outputs.
  • Deep expertise in at least one area of computational biology while contributing broadly across multiomics analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret computational analyses across transcriptomic, proteomic, genetic, and other biological data modalities to support target identification, biomarker discovery, mechanism-of-action studies, and translational research.
  • Analyze and integrate public and internal datasets to generate, prioritize, and refine therapeutic hypotheses across diverse disease programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional scientists to translate computational analyses into actionable scientific insights.
  • Communicate results through presentations, written reports, scientific publications, and conferences.
  • Depending on experience, contribute to or independently lead computational analyses across diverse disease programs.
