About The Position

We are currently searching for Bioinformatics Scientist to provide bioinformatics support to advance the institute research programs, with a primary focus on single cell and spatial omics data analysis. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Durham, NC. Collaborate with scientists to design, analyze, manage and interpret all types of data. Conduct analyses on NextGen sequencing data including data derived in ChIP-Seq,RNA-Seq, miRNA-Seq and other experimental models. Work with an interdisciplinary team to apply computational data analysis approaches to make biological discoveries. Conduct analysis and interpretation on data from genomic platforms including expression, exon, tiling, promoter and others array types. Work independently with research groups to develop, implement, and refine analytical pipeline for single cell data analysis. Develop, optimize, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines, scripts, and computational tools for large-scale data analysis (e.g., NGS, scRNA-seq, multi-omics). Perform advanced statistical and computational analyses to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable biological insights. Collaborate with scientists and researchers to design experiments, select appropriate analytical approaches, and troubleshoot methodologies. Integrate and analyze diverse genomic and multi-omic datasets, including sequencing and public data sources. Install, configure, and support scientific software across computing platforms; ensure reproducibility through standardized workflows and documentation. Generate reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings to scientific and technical audiences. Evaluate and implement new bioinformatics tools, statistical methods, and computational approaches based on current literature and research needs.
