About The Position

Uses professional bioinformatics concepts. Applies computational procedures to resolve a variety of analysis and research issues. Works on assignments of moderate scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors. Assists in additional analyses as needed to achieve research objectives. A bright, hardworking individual with very strong communication and organizational skills is sought by the Department of Neurology, University of California at San Francisco, to serve as a staff bioinformatician providing support for ongoing research projects related to the analysis of phage immunoprecipitation, metagenomic, transcriptomic (bulk and single cell), and immune repertoire (bulk and single cell) sequencing data. We are seeking an individual with experience in data science, proteomics and open-source software tools and ability to write custom scripts for high throughput sequence mapping and alignment; download and upload of data and integration of data pipelines with public repositories; assisting in management of large genomics datasets as well as writing custom computational solutions when available tools are inadequate and/or if these are necessary to resolve bugs in existing software. Plus if individual possess knowledge of PhIP-Seq assay and antigen discovery in autoimmune and infectious diseases generally.

Requirements

  • Experience in data science.
  • Experience in proteomics.

  • Ability to download and upload data.
