The Metabolomics Shared Resource (MSR) at Georgetown University Medical Center is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to join a highly collaborative team. This role will focus on the experimental design of metabolomics studies and the analysis of associated data. The successful candidate will provide bioinformatics support for analytical design across various metabolomics studies, including molecular profiling and targeted quantitation using multiple reaction monitoring. Additionally, the position will contribute to developing pipelines for metabolic model development, modeling, and stoichiometric analysis of metabolic flux. The role involves collaborating with wet-lab scientists to design experiments and integrate diverse experimental data, such as transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics (including stable isotope-based in vitro and in vivo metabolomics), and mass spectrometry-based profiling. This new position is crucial for enhancing the big data analysis capabilities to support multiple federally funded projects within the MSR. The expansion of duties and the need for qualified candidates necessitate a revision of the current pay scale to ensure competitiveness.
