Biochemist - Process Characterization and Controls (Wed - Sat)
About The Position
Eurofins PSS is seeking a Biochemist to join their Process Characterization and Controls team. This role involves conducting cell culture studies, performing affinity chromatography and viral inactivation, and executing cGLP cell banking. The position requires ensuring SOP compliance, analyzing large datasets using statistical methods, and drafting technical reports to support commercial filings. The Biochemist will also present findings in cross-functional meetings, coordinate lab activities with scientific teams, and provide technical support to Manufacturing for troubleshooting and improvements. This is a full-time position with a Wednesday to Saturday schedule.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or related discipline
- Hands-on lab experience with cell culture and/or affinity chromatography
- Solid understanding of antibody manufacturing processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Comfortable with ambiguity and quick to learn
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and maintains a positive attitude
- Enjoys balancing multiple projects and keeping stakeholders informed
- Capable of owning technical reports and driving scientific improvements
Responsibilities
- Conduct cell culture studies (shake flask to fed-batch bioreactor)
- Perform affinity chromatography & viral inactivation
- Execute cGLP cell banking for research use
- Ensure SOP compliance and report anomalies
- Analyze large datasets using statistical methods
- Draft technical reports to support commercial filings
- Present findings in cross-functional meetings
- Coordinate lab activities with scientific teams
- Provide technical support to Manufacturing for troubleshooting & improvements
