About The Position

The Bindery Utility Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining bindery equipment to produce high-quality finished printed materials. This role ensures jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with customer specifications and company standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
1–3 years bindery or similar equipment experience
Ability to independently set up and run at least one machine type
Mechanical aptitude required
Ability to read job instructions and follow directions accurately
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs regularly
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements

Responsibilities

Set up and operate bindery equipment such as cutters, folders, stitchers, collators, and binding machines
Read and interpret job tickets to ensure accurate production specifications
Perform machine adjustments and troubleshooting to maintain quality and efficiency
Monitor machine performance and output to meet production and quality targets
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
Package completed jobs according to instructions
Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working order
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Assist with material handling and other production tasks as needed
