About The Position

As a Bindery - Operator II you will be responsible for the set up, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of applicable equipment. The equipment operated includes, but is not limited to: Hunklers, Collators, 3-Knife Trimmers and Folders. You will be expected to interpret and apply department policies, procedures and job instructions accurately, communicate effectively with incoming shift personnel to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions, and maintain accurate counts. You will also be responsible for following all safety procedures, moving and organizing scheduled work for assigned machinery, assisting in training new Bindery Operators, and monitoring production and quality to make recommendations on process improvements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months in a Bindery role.
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
  • Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
  • Ability to work required overtime beyond the standard 40-hour workweek depending on production requirements.
  • Required to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
  • May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
  • May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.
  • May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, run, and maintain assigned machinery.
  • Troubleshoot assigned machinery according to company procedures and practices to assure efficiency and quality to meet the required production schedule.
  • Read and understand the written information pertaining to the job.
