About The Position

As a Flat Cutter Operator at Lakeside Book Company, you will be responsible for preparing and executing jobs on the flat cutter machine. This includes inputting data, operating the machine to cut paper, and managing the output. You will also be involved in maintaining the machine, ensuring safety, and contributing to process improvements. Requirements

Previous experience operating a flat cutter
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Able to stand for long periods of time
Ability to read job instructions and use a ruler
Must be able to rotate shifts in a 3 shift - operation and work daily / weekly overtime as required.
Strong attention to detail
Safety conscious

Responsibilities

Prepare and lay out jobs for cutting on the flat cutter machine
Input sheet image data into the flat cutter computer system
Removes paper stacks ("lifts") from skids or jogging machine and places them in trimmer to cut job
Operates stacker by taking paper from trimmer and loading into stacker
Apply load flags to finished pallets and maintain accurate production counts and daily reports
Perform routine preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work area
Troubleshoot issues and submit requests for maintenance as needed
Change knives and sticks as needed to ensure optimal machine performance
Assist with training others as needed
Assist in process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
