About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring that all finished aprons, Thyroid Shields, Sleeves, Gonad Shields, Table Pads, and Porta Shields adhere to work order instructions. The position requires the ability to read factory work orders, understand special instructions, and produce aprons according to specifications. The Binder will tag aprons with the correct protection type and ensure orders are complete before moving them to the next workstation. This role also involves improving work process efficiencies by communicating ideas and procedures in sewing, understanding company quality policies, and maintaining a "first-in-first-out" system for apron production. The Binder will clarify questions regarding work orders with the Quality Inspector and maintain a safe, clean work area, including performing minor preventative maintenance on machines. A thorough knowledge of the apron-making process, styles, products, and customers is essential. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to move around the factory
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work on several orders simultaneously
  • Basic sewing knowledge and knowledge of operation of sewing machines
  • Possess an excellent understanding of the process

  • Results oriented while managing multiple tasks with shifting priorities
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions in English.

  • Ability to apply basic understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Responsibilities

  • Read Factory Work Order to include “special instructions” and produce aprons according to the specifications
  • Tag aprons with correct protection type
  • Ensure orders are complete prior to sending the product to the next workstation
  • Improve work process efficiencies by communicating ideas and or procedures in sewing
  • Understand company quality policies including work instructions and procedures
  • Ensure that aprons being sewn follow a “first-in-first-out” system process
  • Clarify with Quality Inspector any questions regarding work orders
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area, to include blowing down the machine and making minor preventative maintenance of machines (e.g. keeping oil levels full, replacing old needles with new, etc.)
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the apron-making process, apron styles, products and customers
  • Additional job duties as may be assigned from time to time by management
