About The Position

Gibson Inc., a leading iconic guitar brand with over 130 years of history, is seeking a Binder for its Custom Shop location on 1st shift (6a-230p). The primary mission of the binder is to apply thin strips of plastic to the routed edge of a guitar body. This process provides an aesthetically pleasing accent and protects the guitar's edge from damage. The role involves working with alternating patterns and thicknesses of binding, ranging from simple black strips to ornate abalone inlays, contributing to the unique look of each Gibson guitar series.

Requirements

  • Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • General knowledge of guitar construction required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and execute standard operating procedures.
  • Lift, move, and bind a guitar.
  • Bind guitars to the required output according to the model mix after training.
  • Meet a 95% pass rate based on production requirements.
  • Understand and meet quality standards (Specs.).
  • Maintain product flow at an appropriate rate.
  • Adhere to department protocols (5S and Safety).
  • Adhere to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules.
  • Submit Safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR code.
  • Support the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
