About The Position

The Bin Repair Laborer is responsible for the restoration of wooden cranberry crates, which involves removing defective wood and replacing it with new components. The role requires the safe operation of various tools including pneumatic staplers, nail guns, hammers, pry bars, chisels, cutters, and Sawzalls. Key duties also include maintaining a clean and organized work area, reporting operational issues to supervisors, staging cranberry bins, and ensuring consistent attendance. The position involves performing forklift operations for staging, loading, unloading, and transporting bins. Additionally, the laborer will support Receiving Station's harvest operations by assisting with set-up, monitoring equipment efficiency, and supporting routine maintenance and cleanup. The role also includes physically removing snow and using large equipment for snow removal on sidewalks and driving surfaces, assisting with loading trucks for waste disposal, and maintaining accurate logs of inbound and outbound shipments. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the restoration of wooden cranberry crates by removing defective wood and replacing with new wood components.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of tools used for the repair of bins; these include a pneumatic stapler, nail gun, hammer, pry bar, chisel, cutters and Sawzall.
  • Accountable to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Advises the Supervisor or Lead Worker of any operational problems, equipment failure, or safety and quality issues.
  • Stages cranberry bin bottoms and sides for stacking and/or repair.
  • Required to attend work on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Perform forklift operations such as: staging cranberry bins inside/outside the yard, load and unload bins from trucks, and transport bin sides and bottoms into the plant for repair.
  • Support Receiving Station’s harvest operations by: assisting with harvest set-up, monitoring operational efficiency of assigned harvest equipment, and supporting routine maintenance, sanitation/end of year harvest cleanup.
  • Removes snow physically where needed and by means of large equipment on sidewalks and driving surfaces.
  • Assist with loading truck to dispose of waste produced by the Process and Receiving operations.
  • Ability to maintain accurate logs of inbound and outbound shipments.
