About The Position

As a BIM/VDC Specialist within PCL’s Integrated Construction Technology (ICT) team, you will play a meaningful role in shaping how digital construction is delivered across the organization. This is a corporate-level position, where you will work alongside a team of highly experienced VDC leaders across North America, supporting operations and influencing how BIM/VDC is applied at scale. You will collaborate directly with project teams, helping them adopt and evolve model-based workflows that improve coordination, efficiency, and overall project outcomes. In this role, you are more than a technical contributor, you are a BIM/VDC “influencer” (BIMflunacer) within the organization. You will help guide how tools, standards, and processes are applied in real-world project environments, with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing evolution of PCL’s digital construction strategy. Key aspects of the role include: Supporting operations VDC teams to deliver high-quality, model-based project outcomes, Engaging directly with project teams to develop, test, and refine new workflows, Contributing to R&D initiatives and proof-of-concept (POC) efforts that evaluate and advance emerging technologies, Participating in a culture of continuous learning, where curiosity and innovation are expected and supported. Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
  • 4+ years of experience in construction, with strong exposure to BIM/VDC workflows
  • Experience applying VDC on larger projects
  • Intermediate understanding of construction delivery models and construction process
  • Working knowledge of model-based coordination and BIM/VDC workflows
  • Familiarity with BIM execution planning and digital project delivery practices
  • Proficiency in common VDC tools, including Autodesk Forma, Navisworks, Revizto, Revit, Assemble, or similar platforms
  • Ability to support and guide project teams in applying BIM/VDC practices
  • Ability to contribute to standards, documentation, and process improvements
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and practical way
  • Interest in continuous learning and improving how work is delivered
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on practical solutions

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams in applying BIM/VDC tools, workflows, and coordination practices to improve project outcomes
  • Work alongside project and VDC teams to align model-based processes with ICT standards, templates, and best practices
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of BIM/VDC standards, workflows, and supporting resources used across projects
  • Help identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and quality of digital workflows across multiple projects
  • Support the implementation and adoption of enterprise tools (e.g., ACC, Navisworks, Revizto) in partnership with operations teams
  • Participate in the evaluation and testing of new tools and workflows, helping capture insights and lessons learned
  • Provide input into BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and support alignment with corporate expectations
  • Assist in creating guidance materials, templates, and practical examples to support project teams
  • Share knowledge through training sessions, workshops, and collaboration with project and ICT teams
  • Work with ICT and operations teams to support ongoing improvements in digital construction practices
