About The Position

TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. is seeking a BIM Technician to join our Structural Engineering Group in Brentwood, TN. This role involves interpreting construction documents to create detailed 3-D models for structure creation and maintenance, developing detailed designs for various structures, and ensuring accurate and precise deliverables through collaboration with internal and external customers. The company is a full-service, multi-disciplinary engineering firm founded in 1989, specializing in structural, steel detailing, restoration & inspection, MEP, transportation, parking structure design, and architectural support. Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Architectural Technology, CAD Drafting and Design or related education
  • Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in structural engineering design
  • Able to interpret and understand construction drawings
  • Ability to communicate engineering requirements
  • High proficiency operating in Revit/BIM/3D software required
  • Ability to think critically to solve problems
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple functional groups to coordinate the flow of information
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines and customer expectations
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and business software

Responsibilities

  • Interpret construction documents in order to create detailed 3-D models which can be used to build and maintain a structure
  • Develop detailed designs for various structures, specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures
  • Draw-in minute details of structures and components
  • Layout and draw schematic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and structures
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies and resolve design problems
  • Connect with internal and external customers to assess needs and provide deliverables that are accurate and precise
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure quality and schedule are maintained
  • Create reports and downloads to assist other team members
  • Additional duties as assigned
