About The Position

Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization supports Apple’s devices, transactions, and technology systems. Infrastructure Services, part of IS&T, manages data center equipment and systems that deliver compute, storage, and networking services across Apple. The Data Center Engineering team evaluates IT server technologies and data center infrastructure devices and systems.

The BIM Systems Engineer serves as the subject matter expert for the Data Center Engineering function. The role oversees owner quality reviews of CAD drawings and BIM models on large, complex projects; leads development and re-engineering of documentation-related processes; and develops and maintains the BIM technologies roadmap. The position calls for a collaborative, innovative, forward-thinking professional experienced in working with diverse functions in the data center AEC space.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering; Architecture or Architectural Engineering; Construction Management; or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in building-related 3D modeling, including work on large, complex, MEP-intensive projects.
• At least 5 years of BIM administration experience and practical knowledge of tool automation.

Nice To Haves

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with MEP and/or structural-related BIM modeling.
• Strong familiarity with drafting applications such as AutoCAD and modeling applications such as Revit, Navisworks, and reality capture tools.
• Detailed knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Experience with scripting and/or visual programming automation tools such as Dynamo and Python.
• Project management and tracking experience.
• Advanced spreadsheet and/or database skills for data manipulation, project tracking, and analysis.
• Proficiency with Mac, Linux, and Windows systems.
• Experience with Civil3D and ArcGIS integration.
• Willingness to explore and learn new tools and processes, including travel to Apple facilities to train and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
