About The Position

We are seeking an experienced BIM Modeler / Electrical Detailer to support commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through project completion. This role will develop detailed 3D BIM models, coordination drawings, and installation-ready documentation to support constructability, prefabrication, and efficient field execution.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of BIM or electrical detailing experience, a strong background in commercial electrical construction, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. This position works closely with project managers, field teams, engineers, and other trades to coordinate electrical systems, identify clashes, and ensure accurate installation in the field.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a BIM Modeler, Electrical Detailer, VDC Designer, or similar role.
• Commercial electrical construction experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience modeling electrical systems for commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, conduit routing, equipment layouts, and installation practices.
• Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary trade coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, field-ready drawings.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent experience in BIM, drafting, electrical design, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed BIM models for commercial electrical construction projects.
• Create electrical shop drawings, installation drawings, layout plans, and prefabrication drawings based on contract documents.
• Model electrical systems and components, including conduit routing, equipment layouts, sleeves, hangers, and supports.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other trades to resolve conflicts before field installation.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents for accuracy, constructability, and coordination issues.
• Participate in BIM/VDC coordination meetings and incorporate approved design changes, RFIs, and field revisions into project models.
• Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, engineers, architects, and VDC teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce accurate, construction-ready drawings and model information for field installation and prefabrication.
• Maintain project models throughout construction and assist with final as-built documentation.
• Ensure all models and drawings meet project requirements, BIM standards, and quality expectations.
