About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced BIM Modeler/Detailer to develop accurate, coordinated 3D electrical models and construction-ready drawings for commercial electrical projects. The role focuses on BIM/VDC coordination, clash detection, and prefabrication detailing to support efficient field installation. The position collaborates with engineers, project managers, other trades, estimators, superintendents, foremen, and field crews. It supports projects throughout construction, from design review and coordination through updated drawings, as-built documentation, and final model deliverables.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in BIM modeling, electrical detailing, VDC design, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with commercial electrical construction projects.
• Proven ability to develop electrical system models and construction-ready drawings.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of electrical installation practices, conduit routing, cable trays, equipment layouts, supports, and penetrations.
• Experience with clash detection, BIM/VDC coordination, and multidisciplinary construction models.
• Ability to interpret electrical and architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of field installation requirements, constructability, and construction sequencing.
• Ability to produce accurate, coordinated models that crews can use directly for installation.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prefabrication modeling and spool drawing experience.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent training and experience in BIM, drafting, electrical design, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D models of electrical systems, including conduit pathways, cable trays, equipment, hangers, sleeves, and penetrations.
• Produce shop drawings, installation plans, spool drawings, coordination layouts, and prefabrication packages.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate electrical layouts with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Review design documents and specifications to identify discrepancies, installation challenges, and missing information.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other trades to resolve BIM/VDC coordination issues.
• Incorporate approved RFIs, submittals, design revisions, and field changes into project models.
• Coordinate with estimators, superintendents, foremen, and field crews to ensure models reflect actual site conditions.
• Develop models that support prefabrication accuracy, installation sequencing, and field productivity.
• Provide updated drawings and technical modeling support throughout construction.
• Prepare as-built documentation and final model deliverables at project completion.
• Maintain drawing accuracy and ensure all deliverables meet project standards and specifications.
