About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Staffing & Recruiting is partnering with a respected professional services organization to identify an experienced Billing Specialist for a fully remote, contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a billing professional with legal industry experience who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys owning the billing process from invoice generation through collections and appeals. This opportunity is moving quickly, with interviews scheduled immediately and an anticipated start date as soon as possible.

Requirements

Legal billing experience required
Defense law firm experience strongly preferred
Experience with accounts receivable, collections, and invoice appeals
Knowledge of time and billing systems
Experience with e-billing platforms, such as eBillingHub or similar systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Strong communication and customer service skills
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

Process and distribute 500+ client invoices each month
Manage e-billing submissions and troubleshoot billing-related issues
Review invoices for accuracy, billing rates, client guidelines, and compliance requirements
Generate and distribute invoices through email, print, and electronic billing systems
Perform collections activities and monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances
Research and reconcile billing discrepancies across internal and client systems
Submit, track, and resolve invoice appeals, reductions, and billing adjustments
Maintain billing rates, budgets, and client matter information
Prepare billing reports and support internal stakeholders with billing inquiries and requests
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all financial and client information
