We're seeking a Billing Specialist who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-based environment and has a passion for accuracy, problem solving, and customer service. In this role, you'll be partnered with project managers and finance professionals to ensure timely, accurate project billing while supporting the financial health of our projects. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in project billing, project accounting, or a related financial role.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with an ERP/accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with project managers and cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint or other project-based accounting software.
  • Experience with project financial analysis, revenue recognition, and work-in-process reporting.
  • Experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) or environmental consulting industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate client invoices in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Establish new projects and proposal numbers within the project accounting system.
  • Process project setup changes, budget revisions, and contract modifications.
  • Analyze project financial data to support accurate revenue recognition and work-in-process reporting.
  • Partner with Project Managers to resolve billing questions and ensure contract compliance.
  • Provide project-specific billing guidance and financial support to project teams.
  • Prepare and distribute project reports and financial information as requested.
  • Maintain organized electronic project documentation and billing records.
  • Assist with operational and financial reporting initiatives and other accounting support activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
