About The Position

The Billing Specialist reports to the Billing Department Manager in the MWG-Administrators Division. The position is a non-exempt, hourly role and is located at 500 Steed Road, Ridgeland MS 39157. The Billing Specialist will ensure financial records are accurately maintained and all payment procedures are followed. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• General computer skills
• Knowledgeable in MS Outlook, Windows, Excel, and Word.
• Basic data entry skills
• Above average mathematical skills.
• Must be able to learn and be proficient with the software used in the TPA Departments.
• Must possess strong time management, organizational, problem solving, and customer service skills.
• Must work well under pressure with multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position as stated above can be fully met.

Nice To Haves

• Associates or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 1-2 years of previous experience in the life and health insurance industry is preferred.
• Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and maintains invoices, and records to ensure accuracy.
• Maintains all customer payment records.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the insurance field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job function.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
