Billing Specialist (Medicaid & Commercial Insurance)
About The Position
Renaissance Behavioral Health is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medicaid & Commercial Insurance Billing Specialist to join our growing team. This role is essential to ensuring the financial health of our organization while supporting our mission to provide high-quality behavioral health services. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for helping to manage the full cycle of insurance billing, including Medicaid and commercial payers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AdvancedMD, Availity, and the Provider Network Management system, along with a strong background in provider credentialing and claim denial management.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in behavioral health or medical billing
- Proven experience with: AdvancedMD
- Proven experience with: Availity
- Proven experience with: PNM
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance billing practices
- Experience with denial management and appeals
- Familiarity with provider credentialing processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities
- Submit, track, and manage claims for Medicaid and commercial insurance payers
- Utilize AdvancedMD (EHR) for billing and account management
- Work within Availity and Medicaid provider portals for claim submission and follow-up
- Perform insurance verification and ensure accurate patient billing information
- Manage claim denials, rejections, and appeals to maximize reimbursement
- Manage provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes
- Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues
