About The Position

This role is a strategic and operational leadership position responsible for overseeing global billing operations and managing a distributed team of billing analysts. You will ensure accurate, timely, and scalable invoicing across multiple billing streams, including subscription, usage-based, and renewals, while maintaining alignment with revenue recognition and finance processes. The position requires a hands-on, process-oriented leader who can drive change, leverage automation and AI-enabled tools, and implement best practices across a global billing function. You will partner closely with Finance, Revenue Accounting, and cross-functional teams to resolve billing issues, optimize workflows, and provide executive-ready insights. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and enjoys leading people, processes, and systems to scale operations efficiently. Your leadership will help ensure operational excellence, team development, and seamless financial execution on a global scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in billing, accounting operations, or revenue-related roles within a technology or SaaS environment.
  • Proven experience managing global teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Strong expertise in subscription-based and usage-based billing models.
  • Hands-on experience with billing and ERP systems (e.g., BillingPlatform, Sage Intacct).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, optimize processes, and scale global operations.
  • Curiosity and openness to automation and AI-enabled tools.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a globally distributed billing team, establishing performance expectations, accountability, and coaching for professional growth.
  • Own end-to-end billing operations across new deals, renewals, usage-based billing, mid-month and month-end billing, and cancellations/credits.
  • Maintain billing documentation, playbooks, and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
  • Manage billing intake, prioritization, and SLA adherence, balancing recurring cycles with ad hoc requests.
  • Partner with Revenue Accounting to ensure billing aligns with revenue recognition and support cash forecasting requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and adoption of AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Systems, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and FP&A teams to support operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor billing accuracy, enforce internal controls, and support audit and governance requirements.
