About The Position

Join the Plastic Surgery team as a Billing Managed Care Coordinator, helping patients navigate insurance and billing. The role secures appropriate insurance authorizations and referrals, supports accurate reimbursement, and manages key billing and collection activities. It also includes reviewing managed care contracts, maintaining billing records, and providing training and support to other departments on managed care billing practices and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2–3 years of managed care billing and collections experience required.
Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement practices.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret data and make informed decisions.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Healthcare billing software and systems knowledge is a plus.
Familiarity with prior authorizations and insurance referrals.
Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes.
Familiarity with charge entry.
Familiarity with insurance appeals and denials.
Familiarity with managed care billing and reimbursement.
Familiarity with patient coinsurance, deductibles, and self-pay collections.

Responsibilities

Obtain insurance approvals before patient services are initiated.
Ensure required insurance referrals are received.
Support accurate and timely billing and reimbursement from managed care organizations.
Review and process managed care contracts and agreements.
Manage and monitor billing and collection activities.
Collect applicable patient coinsurance, deductibles, and self-pay revenue.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date managed care billing records.
Provide training and support to other departments on managed care billing practices and procedures.
