About The Position

The Billing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day billing operations of the department and the hospital outpatient billing service utilizing a centralized medical information system. This posting is for all current Advanced Medical Group Team Members that are either per diem, part time, or full time status.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Word processing experience and experience with CPT coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient's insurance and acts as a liaison with patients regarding hospital charges.
• Assists physician billing department with gathering various information needed for collection of bills such as patient information, doctor referral letters, and copying of medical records.
• Ensures completion of all forms and collects complete billing information.
• Acts as a liaison to the Physician's by following up on all concerns regarding patient billing matters.
• Coordinates pertinent information of patient's medical record for submission to the physician billing service.
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
