About The Position

The billing and patient service representative performs various routine and complex clerical tasks and deals with patients, primarily dealing with insurance billing, coding and claims follow up. Requirements

Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, as well as insurance contractual language regarding preferred provider organization.
Manually bill all Breast Care claims through the Breast Care web portal. Also manually bill claims that are being paid by grant money or foundations.
Ensure all insurance accounts are set up correctly in the computer.
Provide assistance to patients and insurance providers in settling account disputes by checking account balance, verifying what services were rendered, adjust costs, and identifying amount already paid.
