The Billing and Contract Management Specialist is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and oversight of customer contracts and billing processes. This role ensures accurate contract execution, timely invoicing, compliance with contractual terms, and effective communication with internal departments and external customers. The Specialist serves as a key resource in managing contract documentation, resolving billing discrepancies, supporting revenue cycle activities, and maintaining data integrity within company systems. This is an office-based role located on-site at our West Fargo corporate headquarters.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in medical billing, healthcare revenue cycle operations, contract administration, or a related healthcare support function is a plus.
• Working knowledge of medical billing practices, reimbursement methodologies, payer requirements, and contract management principles.
• Experience utilizing accounting, billing, contract management, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data entry, billing, and contract documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, evaluate trends, and recommend solutions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• The ability to collaborate across multiple functions to ensure operational and financial accuracy.
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and data management tools.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening, in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Performs all charge entry and billing tasks, including reviewing logs for accuracy, auditing coding and data entry, and performing charge reconciliation to ensure billing integrity.
• Collaborates with internal functional teams to resolve billing, reimbursement, and contract-related issues.
• Identifies trends in billing errors, analyzes exception reports, and reviews documentation for accuracy to ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Serves as a liaison with internal and external customers regarding contract requirements, compliance standards, billing inquiries, and fee schedule reviews.
• Provides clarification and support to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
• Reviews and audits contracts for completeness, accuracy, and consistency prior to customer submission.
• Ensures contract documents are clearly written, properly executed, and presented in a professional manner that reflects organization standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned
