About The Position

Matrix Home Care is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing and Collections Specialist to support our revenue cycle operations. This role is responsible for managing claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining accurate financial and patient billing records. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of home health billing, insurance processes, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Requirements

Home health billing experience required
Minimum of 1 year of insurance experience
Medicare billing experience preferred
Experience working with commercial insurance and workers’ compensation
Proficiency with payer portals and EMR systems
Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent follow-up skills and ability to resolve issues independently
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Medicare billing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain claim files, including submission of claims to Medicare, commercial insurance, and workers’ compensation
Ensure timely claim submission and follow-up to meet billing deadlines
Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and proactively resolve denials or discrepancies
Post payments, reconcile accounts, and manage patient balances, including co-pays and collections
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits to support accurate and clean claim submission
Utilize payer portals for claim status, follow-up, and resolution
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
Ensure compliance with all billing regulations, payer guidelines, and company policies
