About The Position

The Workforce Coach/Instructor supports Guadalupe Centers’ Workforce Development & Adult Education Department, a Financial Opportunity Center (FOC), by guiding community members toward career and financial stability. This role recruits participants for training, education, and employment programs; conducts career assessments; and delivers job readiness, including digital literacy and ELL instruction.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and certifications.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish, oral and written) required
  • Track record and skills set to teach ELL classes to students with little or no English proficiency
  • Excellent Communication Skills – written and oral, aptitude in a public presentation
  • Medium level or greater in MS suite, Google Suite, Internet, and management information systems, (i.e. Salesforce, Paycor, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a non-judgmental way with a diverse range of people, maintaining a respectful and inclusive culture.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage a wide variety of clients with varying needs and conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution and significant professional experience (two to five years).
  • Strong understanding of the workforce, income support, financial literacy ,and coaching.
  • Previous work experience with the target population, and/or the ability to provide coaching services in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Implement core FOC model services that include individualized coaching and group education to achieve financial stability.
  • Conducts income support assessments to develop action plans with program participants and provide tools, resources, support, and accountability to assist in financial goal achievement.
  • Assist participants with employment and career development, including job readiness, resume and cover letter preparation, job applications, interview preparation, job placement, career advancement, and employment retention.
  • Provide financial coaching and counseling on budgeting, debt reduction, savings, banking, credit building/repair, and strategies to improve overall financial health and increase net worth.
  • Deliver financial literacy and career development workshops on topics such as budgeting, credit, banking products, predatory lending, and career pathways.
  • Support participants in accessing vocational training opportunities, and accessing bridge to career pathways.
  • Conduct public presentations and outreach activities to recruit participants and increase awareness of FOC and Workforce & Adult Education services, including coordinating and participating in job fairs.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with employers, educational institutions, government agencies, unions, industry sponsors, and community organizations to expand resources and opportunities for participants.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and provide required documentation and information to support program operations and outcomes in Salesforce.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and support continuous improvement of FOC programs and services.
  • Collect and record accurate required data from the participants throughout the program, including demographic information, participation/attendance, in CRM platform; Salesforce.
  • Maintains monthly and quarterly updates of outcomes and achievements via report preparation using EOS tools such as scorecards, dashboards, etc.
  • Plan and deliver English lessons for learners of varying proficiency levels.
  • Collaborate with the team to adapt curriculum and integrate real-life contexts into lessons.
  • Assess and document learners’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Deliver digital skills lessons in English and Spanish, creating an inclusive and engaging learning space.
  • Collaborate with the team to customize curriculum and provide individualized support.
  • Use assessments to track progress and enhance both language acquisition and digital competencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
