About The Position

Midwest BankCentre is seeking a Bilingual Universal Banker to join their team. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting in achieving branch goals, and providing excellent customer service. The position requires flexibility to accommodate staffing needs, the ability to work independently and manage time effectively, and adherence to policies and procedures. The Universal Banker will also contribute to branch meetings and culture, promote products and services based on customer needs, provide consultative advice, and assist with account opening and maintenance, including consumer loan and credit card applications. A key aspect of the role is supporting and promoting digital banking solutions and assisting customers with teller transactions, resolving discrepancies, and balancing cash drawers. The position also involves proactive in-bound and out-bound call handling to build relationships and identify opportunities for expanding customer relationships. Referrals to business partners are essential to ensure customers can meet all their financial needs within Midwest BankCentre. The role requires understanding and adherence to federal banking regulations such as BSA, USA Patriot Act, and AML, as well as maintaining awareness of the Bank's compliance requirements and risk management concepts. Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage clients effectively
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and software
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to think critically under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings, as per business needs
  • Willing and able to travel to other locations/branches
  • Willing and able to work required overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A minimum of two years bank customer contact or retail sales experience preferred
  • Commercial credit experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and balance cash drawers and reconcile discrepancies
  • Assist with credit card applications
  • Be proactive, using contact management methodology to build relationships over time
  • Identify opportunities for expanding customer relationships
  • Make next-best product recommendations
  • Solve issues or problems before they arise
  • Connect customers to experienced banking partners when appropriate
  • Meet quarterly banker minimum standards
  • Participate in sales, service and product training meetings and MBC@Work presentations
  • Gain knowledge of and adhere to BSA, USA Patriot Act, AML, and Notary Public
  • Maintain awareness of and adherence to Bank’s compliance requirements and risk management concepts, expectations, policies, and procedures and apply them to daily tasks
