About The Position
Ayuda is seeking a Bilingual Therapist (Mental Health Professional) to join their Social Services team. The purpose of this role is to provide therapy and support to Ayuda’s clients. Ayuda is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing direct legal, social, and language access services, education, and outreach to low-income immigrants in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The organization has a history of providing critical services and has gained expertise in immigration law, language access, domestic violence, and human trafficking. This position is based in the DC office and is hybrid, involving both in-person and remote workdays, with an expectation of being in the office at least two days a week.
Requirements
- Must be legally able to work in the United States and maintain proper work authorization throughout employment.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position presented in a general office environment.
- Master’s degree or higher in the social services related field (Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, etc.)
- Licensed Professional in Maryland or DC (LGPC, LMSW, LCSW-C in Maryland; LGSW, LGPC, LICSW, LCPC in DC)
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of social services within the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia area, specifically those for immigrants

Responsibilities
- Provide individual (minors and adults), family and/or group therapy; services provided to assigned office site
- Conduct client intakes and safety planning, assess client needs, and develop individualized service and treatment plans
- Provide clinical recommendations and advocacy in the best interests of the client
- Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision with other Ayuda clinician(s)
- Document services provided, collect and maintain required information for specific funding reporting
- Collaborate with Ayuda’s legal department to provide holistic services to clients
- Provide written documentation supporting client’s immigration case such as psychological evaluations or letters of support
- Assist in conducting internal and external training as needed
- Ensure Ayuda representation at local coalition meetings and participate in advocacy initiatives
- Completes duties as assigned by Director of Social Services to meet the demands facing immigrant communities.
