About The Position

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) is seeking a Technical Trainer for the Quebec Zone team. This full-time role reports to the Director, Technical Program and Training. The successful candidate will provide technical training to dealership technicians and internal TCI technical staff, ensuring optimal repair and maintenance of Toyota and Lexus vehicles across Canada. The position requires strong communication skills and a passion for training others.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism in French and English is mandatory.
  • Class A Automotive Technician – Red Seal preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of work experience as an automotive technician or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Shop Foreman or Team Lead.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Education in adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all Toyota University technical courses (self-study and co-facilitation) with competence and confidence.
  • Coordinate with the Director, Technical Program and Training, and the Consultant, Technical Training Team Lead, to ensure an up-to-date training schedule is published and maintained for dealer course registration.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and equipment for effective course delivery and student participation (e.g., course setup).
  • Ensure continuous maintenance of the standardized training fleet and upkeep of vehicle-specific service records.
  • Deliver courses including attendance confirmation, evaluation tests/quizzes, and interactive response to ensure the highest degree of content integrity and participant learning.
  • Maintain active collaboration with the Consultant, Technical Program regarding course content and recommendations for 'kaizen'.
  • Actively participate in 'team meetings' to review and develop course documentation and content to improve technical training and skills of Toyota and Lexus technicians.
  • Ensure SOPs are updated as determined by the Director.
  • Maintain Zone Training Centers to TSM standards.
  • Maintain active involvement and understanding of new automotive technologies and their evolution at Toyota, Lexus, and competitors.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Technical Consultant, and Training Department to coordinate the budget.
  • Assist the Program Technical Course Developer as needed during course development.
